Sugaring

Sugaring is a natural method of hair removal that uses a sticky paste made mainly from sugar, water, and lemon juice. The paste is spread on the skin and then pulled off to remove hair from the root—similar to waxing, but usually gentler.

How sugaring works

  1. A warm (not hot) sugar paste is applied to the skin against the direction of hair growth.
  2. The technician flicks the paste off in the direction of hair growth, pulling the hair out from the root.
  3. The same ball of paste can often be reused on nearby areas.

Why people choose sugaring

  • 🌿 Natural ingredients (just sugar, water, lemon)
  • 🔥 Lower temperature than wax, so less risk of burns
  • 😌 Often less painful because it removes hair in the natural growth direction
  • 🧴 Less irritation and sticks mostly to hair, not skin
  • 🧼 Easy cleanup since the paste dissolves in water
